2002 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 ES

2002 was the first year for electric start. I bought the bike and the Cozy sidecar last fall and spent the winter servicing, modifying and mating them together. It turns out the challenges of learning to ride a sidecar setup are more than I was prepared for. I thought it would be easier than my 2 wheel Bonneville, but the learning curve is more than I want at this time.
The bike: 2002 Royal Enfield Bullet ES. 8500 miles, I had an opportunity to ride it last fall to sort out any issues.  I changed all of the fluids, I rebuilt the shifter mechanism as it is a known trouble spot with these bikes. I updated to a new larger headlight and a new skirted, chrome, front fender just because I like the style. Custom mirrors from a Harley and a 2-up seat which works well for me as I'm bigger and I can slide back as needed. I modified the taillight so it sets level, a styling point that always bothered me on these bikes. I added LED lights to the instruments, a plug-in harness for the sidecar and a new battery. The paint, chrome and upholstery are nice. The bike and sidecar always get a lot of compliments. The bike starts, runs and rides as expected. original keys for ignition and steering lock.
The sidecar. This Cozy Bullet had never been attached to a bike. I don't want to say it was NOS when I got it, but it really was. It came with the correct mounts for a Royal Enfield Bullet, so that was a big win for me. The paint, trim and upholstery are really nice. Both original keys for storage compartment.  It also has a really nice tonneau cover. I added LED lights all around and a plug-in to attach to the bike. I also shortened the windshield 7 inches for a better appearance.
